COMPOSITION
Nine (9) members all of whom shall be citizens of the City. The director of social services shall assign an employee to act as secretary of the board. (Assigned to the Education and Human Services Standing Committee)
TERM OF OFFICE
Four (4) years. No person shall serve more than two successive full terms.

OBLIGATION
To interest itself in all matters pertaining to the social services of the people of the City of Richmond; To monitor the formulation and implementation of social services programs in the city; To meet with the director of the department of social services at least quarterly for the purpose of making recommendations on policy matters concerning the department; To make an annual report concerning the administration of the social services program to Council concurrently with presentation of the department's proposed budget for any upcoming fiscal year; and To submit to Council from time to time any other report concerning social services that the advisory board deems appropriate to bring to the attention of Council.
