COMPOSITION
The number of directors of the corporation shall be not less than four (4) and not more than eight (8). The corporation's Board of Directors shall consist of two classes of directors, the Member Directors and the Elected Directors. (a) Member Directors. The corporation shall have four (4) directors who are designated as the Member Directors. One Member Director shall be appointed annually by the governing bodies of each of the Members and shall be an elected representative of the Member so appointing such Member Director. (b) Elected Directors. The corporation may have up to four (4) directors who are designated as the Elected Directors. Elected Directors, if any, shall be elected by the Member Directors and shall be representatives of the private business sector in the Richmond Metropolitan Area. (Assigned to the Finance & Economic Development Standing Committee)
TERM OF OFFICE
A member director shall serve for a term of one year or until his or her successor is elected. Member directors may serve unlimited successive terms.

OBLIGATION
The purpose of the Greater Richmond Partnership, Inc., is to lessen the burdens of government by promoting the economic development of the Richmond Metropolitan Area to develop a broader tax base, provide more employment opportunities, and improve the standards of living through the cooperative efforts of the members. More specifically, the purposes of the corporation are to: (i) attract new businesses and industries to locate within the jurisdiction of the members, (ii) retain existing businesses and industries within the jurisdictions of the members, and (iii) facilitate the location of new business and industries, and the expansion and redevelopment of existing businesses and industries, within the jurisdictions of the members in all appropriate ways, including, but not limited to, coordinating and assisting the economic development activities of the members, serving as a source of information and technical expertise, and providing assistance in arranging financing for new and existing businesses and industries.
